Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, May 14, 2011 - William I. La Bouff passed away May 12, 2011, at his residence in Lake Havasu City at the age of 74. Bill was born March 16, 1937, in Alhambra, Calif., to John and Mary (Winterbottom) La Bouff. Prior to moving to Lake Havasu City 20 years ago, Bill and his wife, Lorraine, lived in West Covina, Calif., where Bill was a member of the West Covina Elks. He was also a 35-year member of Local #78 with the Southern California Pipe Trade and he retired as Reserve Commander of the West Covina Police Force. He most recently worked as a jailer for the Lake Havasu City Police Department. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lorraine “Lorri” La Bouff; son, William La Bouff, of Long Beach, Calif.; daughter, Victoria Schmitz, of San Clemente, Calif.; sisters, Rose Smith and Alice Bartkowicz, both of Lake Havasu City; and grandchildren, Jordan and Spencer Schmitz. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Charles and Tom La Bouff. In accordance with Bill’s wishes, there will be no services.
