The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on May 15, 2011 - John A. Shaffer went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the age of 66. Daddy was a great man. He was hardworking and sometimes worked two jobs to provide the love of his life with all she needed. He provided a wonderful home and a lot of love. He loved riding his horses. That's when daddy felt the best. He was our cowboy. Daddy leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Charlene; his children, Tom, Deb and Christina (Donald); his adopted son, Tomas; his sister, Linda (Rich); nephews and nieces; his grandchildren, who he adored, Alex, Eric, Nick, Kayla, Ryan, Samantha, Vincent, Harlie and Donald Jr.; and many friends. Daddy, you will be greatly missed. "The last goodbye's the hardest one to say. So this is where the cowboy rides away." There will be no services. Sutton Memorial Funeral Home is handling the cremation.
