Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, May 17, 2011 - Caroline Gray passed away May 13, 2011, in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 81. She was born to Glenn and Hazel (Blakeley) Maxwell Feb. 21, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio. She migrated to Florida in the late ’50s, and relocated to Southern California with her five children in 1962. On Christmas Eve 1965, Caroline married Lawrence “Larry” Gray and together they retired to Lake Havasu 15 years ago from La Puente, Calif. Caroline was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother to 40.5 grandchildren. She considered her blindness an opportunity for her grandchildren to learn compassion for others, and they did. She loved and accepted others unconditionally. Her family was her life and she was proud of each one. She had a great sense of humor until the end. She leaves behind her beloved family, son, Charles "Mickey" Flint, of Apple Valley, Calif.; daughters, Robbin Wignall (Phil) of Chino Hills, Calif., Charlene Araque (Al), of Moreno Valley, Calif., Jackie Harris, of Lake Havasu City, and Kathy Dion (Art), of Lake Havasu City; stepsons, John Gray (his partner, Jon), of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Kelly Gray (Gina), of Clearlake, Calif. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry; and stepdaughter, Cathy Gray. She loved and accepted others unconditionally, was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, Calif., Saturday. Donations in her name may be made to the charity of your choice funding pancreatic cancer research.
