Roberta Boren Bayes passed away May 11, 2011, in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 68. She was born to Alma and Rhea (Hodges) Boren on Nov. 13, 1942, in East Los Angeles, Calif.
Roberta married her beloved husband, Marvin C. Bayes, Nov. 13, 1991, and together they made Lake Havasu their home 20 years ago from Sun Valley, CA. She worked for the VFW Post 9401 as a bartender for 20 years.
Roberta had memberships with the L.D.S. Church, VFW, American Legion, Eagles, Moose and the Elks.
Roberta leaves behind her beloved family, sister-in-law, Janet Boren; niece, Cynthia Hattabaugh; nephews, Jeff Hattabaugh and Steve Essig; great-nieces, Briana Hattabaugh, Brittney Essig and Lauren Hattabaugh; and great-nephew, Austin Essig. She will also be missed by her many friends at the VFW Post 9401. She was currently serving as a lady’s auxiliary guard. She will be especially missed by Harry Ballard II and Best Mate Dot Bendixen and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Bayes; parents, Alma Boren and Rhea Hodges; brother, Paul Boren; and niece, Stacy Essig.
Memorial services will be Sunday, at 4 p.m., at the VFW Post 9401.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roberta’s memory to the VFW Post 9401, 266 London Bridge Rd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.
