The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Pioneer family member dies (Thursday, May 21, 1981) Manuel R. Macias, a life-long resident of Wickenburg, died May 12 at the age of 71. He was born into a farming family that pioneered a homestead along the banks of the Hassayampa River more than 100 years ago. His grandfather Ramon Macias was one of Wickenburg’s first settlers. Survivors include his wife Conception Maldonado and children Manuel M. Macias, Nadine Champlin and Ersie Randolph. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren.
