WILLIAMS, James Henry


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, May 18, 2011 James Henry Williams, born in Miami, Ariz. on May 21, 1943, passed away May 14, 2011 in Phoenix, Ariz. Jim, a welder, worked in the local copper mines for Cities Service for many years before retiring and relocating in the White Mountains that he loved. There he met his wife Cindy, whom he married in 2005 at the HonDah Casino where they loved to dance. Cindy was there for him throughout his long illness. As a young man, Jim enjoyed pitching for LW Hardy’s fast-pitch softball team, and coached little league baseball. Throughout his life, he loved sports, camping, driving through wilderness areas, and dancing to country music. Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy of Pinetop; and three sons, Brian (Kari) Williams, Chris (Deana) Williams of Chandler; and Steve Williams of Globe. He also is survived by stepsons, Daniel and Brian Smith of El Paso; his mother- and father-in-law, Claudette and Lou Glover of Lakeside; and two nieces, Linda and Judi, and two nephews, Jeff and Rowdy, all out of state. Jim enjoyed seeing his seven grandchildren: granddaughter Lindsay, and grandsons Christopher, Zachary, Jared, Shane, Ethan, and Owen Williams, and step-grandchildren: Aaron, Kayla, Ethan, and Ambroshia Smith. His sense of humor and strong character will be remembered by loved ones and long-time friends, including Ricki Williams, step-mother Vera Williams, three uncles, George (Josephine) Williams of Globe, Dave and Eddie Williams, and numerous cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruth Williams, and his sisters, Judi Wilbanks and Patsy Ruth Sand. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Miles Globe Chapel. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Funeral arrangements for James Henry Williams were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Miami.
