Knoxville (TN) News Sentinel Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Marian Katherine Curtner, 21, beloved daughter of Thomas and Sharon Curtner, went to meet her Lord, Saturday, May 7, 2011. She was a sweet caring young woman who touched many lives and was loved by all that knew her. She was a past member of the Knoxville Children's Choir and a graduate of Farragut High School Class of 2008 where she played varsity volleyball. She had attended Tennessee Wesleyan College, Pellissippi State and was a current student at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN. Marian was a member of Alpha XI Gamma Sorority and the volleyball team while attending Tennessee Wesleyan College. She was baptized and of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dr and Mrs L D Curtner and one aunt, Margaret Curtner all of Athens, TN. Survivors: parents, Thomas and Sharon Curtner of Knoxville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Justin and Ami Evans of Maryville, TN; niece, Hope Evans of Maryville, TN; maternal grandparents, Wayne and Sylvia Cook of Cleveland, TN, Mark and Rose Cook Family of Tellico Plains, TN, David and Teresa Cook Family of Tellico Plains, TN; many loving friends. The family will receive friends 4-6pm Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Brown Hill Presbyterian Church, Tellico Plains, TN. Funeral service will follow at 6:00pm, at the church with Rev Sam Melton officiating. Committal service to follow at Brown Hill Cemetery.
