Teresa Swegle Ettenheim, 62, died May 2, 2011, at home in Flagstaff, due to complications of diabetes. She was born May 10, 1948, in Stockton, Calif. She was the daughter of Max and Bertha Swegle and sister to Max Swegle Jr.
She graduated from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. In 1966, she moved to Southern California and attended UCLA, where she received both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration.
She married George Ettenheim Jr. in 1975 and they lived in Pasadena, Calif., where she worked in the banking industry as a loan officer for commercial equipment loans. In 1989, they moved to Flagstaff and started Advanced Energy Concepts, a company that promoted solar energy projects for both high school and college students.
She was a passionate reader, seamstress and traveler, and enjoyed spending time in Hawaii.
Mrs. Ettenheim is survived by her mother, Bertha Isaacson; one niece; step-children Margaret Ettenheim, Kathy Stokes, Ginger Loesch and George Patek Ettenheim III; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of her life, followed by a time of reminiscing, will be held Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Flagstaff Medical Center, Therapy Services - Aquatic Classes, 1200 N. Beaver St., Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
