Mary "Molly" Schneider, 80, died May 17, 2011, at Olivia White Hospice Home in Flagstaff. She was born Feb. 25, 1931, in London.
She met her husband, Paul Schneider, as he was serving in the U.S. Air Force stationed in England. They came to the U.S. in 1954 and later moved to Beatrice, Neb., after Paul finished physical therapy school. They made their home in Beatrice for 50 years, where they raised their family, and then moved to Flagstaff in 2009 to be close to two of their daughters.
Mrs. Schneider had a lifelong passion for books and reading that she shared with her family and friends. Her interests led to starting her own small at-home business of buying and selling rare books. It also led her to volunteer work for Beatrice Public Library. She loved gardening, antiquing and watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She assisted her husband for many years in his physical therapy practice and was instrumental in opening his own clinic.
Mrs. Schneider is survived by her husband, Paul; brother Richard Newman of Shrivenham Swindon, UK; daughters Sue (Therett) Lewis of Flagstaff, Linda (Doug) Hanna of Lincoln, Neb., Kay (Dave) Roesch of Denver and Connie Schneider of Flagstaff; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kate and John Cotter; and two sisters, Bridget Duffy and Kathryn Dybdall.
