The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Tuesday, May 24, 2011 John A. Bal, 65 of Cottonwood, passed away on May 11, 2011. He was born on August 23, 1945 in Lejeune, North Carolina to John Bal Sr. and Anna Bal Schaefer. John was a sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed baseball, gardening and the Alante Car Club. John is survived by his wife Marlene Silvagni. A memorial service will be held on July 23, 2011 at the Cottonwood Ranch Club House in Cottonwood. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
