Gerald E. Rayburn passed onward Sunday at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was a resident of Lake Havasu City, as well as Pagosa Springs, Colo.
Born in Manton, Mich., April 3, 1930, to the late Leo and Ada Rayburn, he was predeceased by one sister and six brothers. He is survived by his sister, Ilene Rayburn Cox. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Melina, whom he married May 27, 1974, and daughters Tasha Rayburn, Roberta Baker, Lola Rayburn, Beth Rayburn Baca, and sons Gerry and Glen Rayburn; there are also numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gerald was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Friends called him "Gerry with a G," and he was known for his witty sense of humor. He was an avid fisherman who won a bass tournament in Lake Havasu. In business, he was an entrepreneur and enjoyed building. He loved to whistle and had a deep interest in the cosmos. He graduated from Grace Bible Seminary in Winona Lake, Ind., and he attended Grace Episcopal Church in Lake Havasu City. There will be a memorial at the church June 4, and another memorial in Pagosa Springs, Colo., July 23.
