The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Sept. 02, 1960, p. 8 Father of Local Man Summoned Funeral services were held at Blooms South Phoenix Mortuary Wednesday morning for Edward P. Harkleroad, 73, of Casa Grande, father of Highway Patrolman William Bruce Harkleroad of Wickenburg. Burial was in Memory Lawn Cemetery in that city. Mr. Harkleroad died in a Phoenix hospital Sunday. The elder Mr Harkleroad was born in London, Ky., and came to Arizona 40 years ago. He was chief engineer of the Adams Hotel in Phoenix for 27 years until he retired in 1949. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande. Surviving, in addition to the Wickenburg son, are the widow, Myrtle; one other son, Roy Lee Harkleroad of Phoenix; one daughter, Mrs Virginia May Carlton of Casa Grande; four brothers and two sisters who reside out of state; and seven grandchildren.
