DARWIN, James L., III


The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Saturday, June 04, 2011 James L. Darwin III, of Rimrock, passed away on June 1, 2011, in the house he built with his own hands. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama on October 27, 1939, to James and Polly Darwin. James served God, his family and country with devotion. For ten years, he lived the cowboy life throughout Northern Arizona for Apache Maid Ranch. He was a gifted craftsman and had the pleasure of using his talents at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona for 16 years. He was known best for the art of gun-smithing. James is survived by his wife, Judy; his children: Robert and Kenny Darwin (Amy), Sherry Rossman (John), grandchildren; Chloe and Noah Rossman, his sister Mary Johnson (Larry) and his faithful and beloved canine companion, Chickenpea.
