FINNEY, Henry Scott


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/07/2011 Henry Scott Finney passed away June 2, 2011 in Welton. Scott would have been 77 on July 24. He and his wife, Cindy, lost their lives as the result of efforts to help a friend in need. He was born in Holbrook to Jim and Leola Finney and moved with his family to Show Low in 1939, where he attended school until joining the Marine Corps during the Korean War in 1952. Scott received his honorable discharge with the rank of sergeant in 1955. He was a dispatcher for Hopper Trucking and later had his own trucking business in Erhenburg, Arizona. He retired to Welton where he enjoyed raising a few cattle and a little garden to keep him busy. Scott is survived by one brother, Neil (Barbra) of Show Low; and three sisters, Judi of Show Low, Tonya (Morris) Harvey of Springfield, Ore. and Jo Ann Hatch of Pinedale. Owens Livingston Mortuary will handle pending arrangements.
