Martin “Junie” Armendarez, Jr., age 58, passed away May 26, 2011, at the University Medical Center in Tucson. He was born in Miami, Ariz. on Nov. 7, 1952, the son of Martin P. and Antonia Armendariz.
Junie played and coached Little League, Farm League and Senior League ball. The last three years he continued to coach his grandchildren from his wheelchair. Junie also restored old vehicles, loved telling stories, music, dancing and laughing. He would do anything that he could for others. His greatest love was his family, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Martin “Junie” Armendarez, Jr. leaves behind in loving memory his wife of 39 years, Donna; daughter, Teresa Olivia; three grandchildren, Lukas, Emma and Olivia Armendarez of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Rosemary Reese of Coppers Cove, Texas and Frances Mata of Miami, Ariz.; and brother, Joe Armendariz of Miami, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Martin Armendarez III.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W Sullivan Street, in Miami, Ariz.
Rosary will follow at 9:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady. Interment will be at Pinal Cemetery, in Central Heights, Ariz.
Funeral arrangements for Martin “Junie” Armendarez, Jr. were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
