Ralph Van Wyk Schutz, 74, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., died Saturday, June 4, 2011, after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, he attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1961. He went on to work as a pharmaceutical sales manager covering Hawaii, California and Asia for Ross Laboratories for 33 years.
A longtime resident of Walnut Creek, Calif., Ralph spent his retirement refereeing, traveling and following the various sports he enjoyed.
When he moved to Prescott Valley in 2004, he became involved in the local Rotary Club, refereed multiple high school, recreational and adult sports, and worked at the Club at Prescott Lakes.
Ralph was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon Schutz; his three daughters, Penelope Schutz, Katie Gilbert and Debbie Schutz; his granddaughters, Sydney and Laine; and his grandson, Nathan.
A memorial service will be at Prescott Christian Church on Senator highway at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.

Ralph Van Wyk Schutz, 74, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., born Nov. 28, 1936, in Antigo, Wis., passed away June 4, 2011.
Services will be 11 a.m. June 10, 2011 at Prescott Christian Church.
