Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, June 08, 2011 Nedis H. Wright Backus passed away on June 4, 2011, in Humboldt, Ariz. Born Nov. 10, 1957, in Atlanta, Ga., to Billy Joe and Verna Mae (Holt) Wright, she was raised mainly in Knoxville, Tenn. In 1970, the family moved to Phoenix, Ariz. where Nedis met the love of her life, Larry Backus. They were married on June 16, 1973, and had their children, William David and Melisa Tamatha Kay. She is predeceased by Verna Mae Holt Wright, Dale Backus and her special "Granny," Margaret Pearl Kelly. Nedis is survived by her husband Larry; son David (Kristina); and daughter Melisa (Chris); and grandchildren Dustin and Katelyn Backus of Flagstaff and Daniel and Dylan Regis of Phoenix. Nedis is also survived by her siblings, Sherry (Barry) Kidwell, Buddy (Lorri) Wright, Jolene (Murphy) Foster, Joyce Kay Chandler, Billy Wright and Tammy (Greg) Wright; as well as several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Caren Chandler, Daniel Foster, and Brandee Smith, and her close friends, the Quailwood Gang.
