GULLYES, Hildreth June

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Wednesday, June 8, 2011 - Hildreth June (Huskey) Gullyes passed away June 6, 2011, at the age of 65. She was born on April 14, 1946, in Redlands, Calif. She moved to Lake Havasu in 1968, when it was just Site 6, with her mother and had her son, Steve. Though never having her name mentioned with the Pioneers of Havasu, she helped build the service industry here. She worked at the Havasu Hotel, Nautical Inn and the Pub. She eventually became the bar manager at the Pub and then bought her own restaurant, Hildreth's Frigate. After she sold the restaurant in the mid ’80s, she continued to work in the restaurant/bar industry until she retired with her husband Joe to San Diego in 2006. She is survived by her son and three grandchildren. She decided to have her body donated to science to help find a cure for her brain disease: Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
