LARSON, Helen Jeannine

(Maiden Name: Hamblin)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/10/2011 Helen Jeannine Hamblin Larson died June 4, 2011. She was born June 15, 1940, in St Johns. Jeannie lived with MSA (Multiple Systems Atrophy) for 15 years. After less than a day of sudden complications resulting from MSA, Jeannie passed peacefully away, surrounded by family members that live near Logan, Utah. Jeannie was a trained concert pianist and inspired a love for music in her children and in the communities she lived throughout her life. She loved the theater and performed in local stage plays and musicals. She directed many productions, teaching others to step outside themselves and enjoy the thrill of a part. She wrote skits, road shows, and plays presented by various communities and by the LDS church. She had fervor for learning and knowledge, often inspiring those around her to think deeper and push past limitations; and she did this with a sense of adventure, laughter, and fun. People were at ease in her presence. She was a good listener and a good friend. She loved history and genealogy. Family and her roots meant everything to Jeannie. She loved inspiring stories about ancestors' struggles, their humorous flaws, and outlandish predicaments; and passed these stories on to her children, grandchildren, dear friends, and even strangers. She was a doer. She was vivacious and happy and added to a room when she came into it. Her laugh was infectious and distinct. And she was a radiant light wherever she went. Jeannie was the youngest of four siblings born to Maree Berry Hamblin and Mark Elbert Hamblin. Her older siblings Joycell Cooper, Lailanni Silvers, and Markay Hamblin are still living. Jeannie is survived by her husband, Keith H. Larson, of 38 years before their separation in 1996, and was an affectionate, loving mother of 10 children: Shane Larson, Troy Larson, Brian Larson, Darin Larson, Jennifer Braddy, Amy Larson Davenport, Margaret Larson, Sara Flake, Matt Larson, and Jared Larson. Funeral services for Jeannie will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the TLC Assembly Hall, 46 E. Union Street in Manti, Utah. Burial will be in the Manti Cemetery.
