The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 18, 1962, p. 5 Thursday Rites For H. L. Lynn Mining Engineer Funeral services for Harold F. Lynn were scheduled to be held in the Wickenburg Chapel at 2 p. m. Thursday of this week with the Rev. James Wilson, Presbyterian minister, officiating. The body will then be sent to San Bruno, Calif., for burial in the Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Mr. Lynn died in Community Hospital at 7:35 p.m. Sunday. He suffered a stroke in 1959 and had been in failing health since. He had been in Community Hospital since January 25. Mr. Lynn was best known here as president of the Mohave Mining & Milling Co., one of the nation's largest producers of manganese during the federal government's stockpiling of that strategic, ore. When the stockpiling ceased, the company was liquidated. After his graduation from Stanford University with the Master of Science degree in 1923. Mr Lynn became a mining engineer and first worked in the Mother Lode area of California. He later became noted for his mining work in Mexico, Turkey, Japan and the Philippines. During World War II, he was a commander in the Naval “Seabees” and was handed the task of building all of this country's airstrips and bases in the Solomon Islands as well as some installations on other islands of the South Pacific. Only survivors are the widow, Edith Lynn of Wickenburg; a sister-in-law, Mrs Doris Lynn of Oakland, Calif.; and two nieces, also of California. ~~~~~~~~~~ The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 25, 1962, RITES IN CALIFORNIA FOR HAROLD L. LYNN Mausoleum rites of Harold F. Lynn were held Tuesday afternoon in the cypress garden Cemetery in San Bruno, Calif. Rev. James Wilson, Presbyterian minister, had conducted services in the Wickenburg Chapel here Thursday afternoon of last week before the body was shipped to the California city. Mr Lynn, who was president of the Mohave Mining & Milling Co. while it operated, died here May 13.
