Death Summons Charles D. Terry
His many friends here and elsewhere were saddened to learn this week of the death of Charles D. Terry which occurred May 26 at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago. Mr Terry, who was 84 years of age, died of pneumonia following surgery. He was a resident of Kewanee, Ill.
Mr Terry, had been spending his winters in Wickenburg for many years, originally as a guest at the old Triangle W. Ranch (now the Lazy Fox), later at the Slash bar K and more recently at Monte Vista. He did not come out last winter, writing to friends that his health would not permit it.
Mr Terry was president of the People's National Bank, Kewanee, when he retired a number of years ago. He was a man who took great pride in his family. Every year he had large quantities of book matches made up especially for him to give to his friends. Listed on the flap were the names of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The arrival of a new addition to the family inspired a regular re-printing of the book matches.
Funeral services were held May 29 at Visitation catholic Church in Kewanee with his son, the Rev. Thomas D. Terry, S,. J. Santa Clara, Calif., officiating. Mr Terry is survived by two daughters, six sons, 34 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
