Rites Held For Carey Phillips

Carey Phillips, 77, a resident of the Morristown area since 1935, died in Community Hospital at 9:50 p.m. Sunday from a gunshot wound inflicted at 8:30 o’clock that morning in his trailer in Morristown. He was found by E. L. Maguire, says Sgt. Dave Carter of the sheriff’s office.

Funeral services and burial were in Phoenix Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Phillips was born in Alabama and was a veteran of the First World War. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs Ella Baugh of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs Mary McGuinn of Charlotte, N. C.; and by two brothers, Will Phillips of San Jacinto, Calif., and Orman Phillips of Mount Center, Calif.
