Funeral services for John D. McManamy, Sr., were scheduled to be held Thursday afternoon of this week in the chapel of the Fort Whipple Veterans Hospital with Rev. James Wilson, Presbyterian minister of Wickenburg, Chaplain Paulding Forry of Fort Whipple and members of the Masonic order of Prescott officiating. Burial was to e in the Veterans’ Cemetery there.
Mr McManamy, who had resided in Wickenburg since 1958 and operated a lapidary shop on the Phoenix Highway, died in the Fort Whipple Veterans Hospital Sunday evening. He had been in ill health for many years and was a patient in the hospital for 16 months.
Born September 27, 1910, in Van Ormer, Pa., Mr McManamy was with the Du Pont fi8rm in New Jersey before World War II when he enlisted in the Navy medical corps. After the war he operated a restaurant in San Jose, Calif., until moving here.
Surviving are the widow, Emily; four children, Christopher and Beth of Wickenburg, John, Jr., of San Jose, Calif., and Russell of Kearny, N. J.; his mother, Mrs Robert O. Winn of North Arlington, N. J.; the father, Rex McManamy of San Jose; a sister, Mrs Marshall C. Rieck of North Arlington, N. J.; and a brother, Robert L. Winn of Wayne, N. J.
Mr McManamy was a member of the Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite, Sciots and American Legion of San Jose.
