MOSES, Shirley J.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, July 9, 2003 Shirley J. Moses, of Phoenix, passed away on July 6, 2003 at the age of 71. She was born on October 20, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA. Shirley moved to Phoenix in 1954 from Temple City, CA. She was a teacher for 37 years and retired in 1992 from Starlight Elementary School in the Cartwright School District. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, active in United Methodist Women, Demolay, White Shrine, AFT, and was a Precinct and State Committee Woman for the Democratic Party. She is survived by her husband, Howard Moses, Jr.; son, Howard (Eunice); sister, Ruth Walling; brother, James B. Harris, Jr.; and grandchildren, Carla and Jonathan Moses. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at 2:00 PM at Faith United Methodist Church, 8640 N. 19th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. Contributions can be made to the church in her name.
