The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, July 9, 2003 Olive Nelson, loving mother, grandmother, and great grand-mother passed away July 3, 2003 in Mesa. Olive was born in Racine, Wisconsin on June 27, 1917. She graduated Park High and married Clyde in 1939. They celebrated 59 loving years together before he passed in 1998. In 1956, they moved the family to Phoenix. In the mid 90s they took up residency in Mesa at Venture Out RV and spent the summers at a second home in Juniper Ridge RV Resort in Show Low. Olive spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Her passions included singing and travel. She loved people, always seeing the best in everyone. She took pride in her family for self-expression and their accomplish-ments. Olive's big heart, her strength, smile, generosity touched everyone she met. She was beautiful in spirit as well as body and an inspiration to all. Everyone that met and knew her, said it was a privilege to be part of her life. She is survived by daughters, Gail Nelson and Bonnie Ozanne (Craig); son Larry Nelson (Barbara Constance); three grand daughters, Tracie Meyers (Jason Spetka), Tami Ekbom (Dave) and Lindsey Nelson (Ron Kuhlman); three great grandchildren, Casandra Gustafson, Courtney Ekbom, Kyle Ekbom; ex-son in law, Ron Meyers (Vicki) and ex-daughter in law, Ann Mc-Coullam; brother Wayne Nelson (Pat) of Oceanside, Ca.; brother in law, Orville Nelson of Wisconsin; twenty two nieces and nephews; and specialn friends across the continent. She was loved and cherished by her family and will be greatly missed by all. We thank God for the time we had with her. In Olive's memory, the family suggest donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower, Phx., 85014. Private service will be held by the family and a Celebration of Life will follow in January, 2004.
