BROWN, Arthur Jay

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, July 10, 2003 Arthur Jay Brown died Monday, July 7, 2003 in Phoenix, Arizona at age 79. He was born in Alfordsville, Indiana to the late David A. & Jewell L. (Kelso) Brown on August 21, 1923. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army for 3 years. Jay and his family moved to Arizona in 1959 from his native Indiana and retired in 1981 from Ranch Trailer Sales in Chandler. In 1987 he moved to Payson, AZ. He was preceded in death by wife, Phyllis Don Brown, in 1975 as well as 1 grandson and 1 great-grandson. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Gene Brown; 1 brother, David L. Brown (Jane); 11 children: Ronald Jay Brown (Sherrie), Bonnie L. Boatwright, Richard Young (Patty), Cheryl A. Oden (Jerry), Kathie Little (Gary), Cathy Berchtold (Steve), Robert L. Brown (Jerri), Edward R. Brown (Julie), Jill Hitch (Doug), Jay P. Brown (Krinda), and Michelle D. Dios (Scott); 14 granddaughters; 16 grandsons and 39 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 10 AM, Thursday, July 10, 2003 at The Chapel of Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler, Arizona where visitation will begin 1 hour prior.
