DRUCKEMILLER,
Dorothy Dana
(Maiden Name: Spence)
The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona
Thursday, July 10, 2003
Dorothy Dana Spence Druckemiller was born on February 16, 1919, in Washington, D. C. Her family soon moved to Arlington, Virginia, where their home on South Taylor Street was the only house on the street. Dorothy earned her B. S. at William & Mary, graduating in 1939. She shared a life-long marriage with her husband, Donald E. Drucke-miller, who died in 1990. Dorothy began her professional career in New York as a reading teacher, and with each new arrival in her very extended family, her question remained the same: Can they read yet? The Druckemillers moved to Arizona in the late '50's, driving their 1955 Thunderbird which they purchased in 1955. The Druckemillers were active members of the Arizona Classic Thunderbird Club. Once in Arizona, Dorothy joined the staff of the Phoenix Union High School District and was a counselor for more than 25 years.
Dorothy Drucke-miller died on July 7, 2003, at her home at Brighton Gardens in Scottsdale, Arizona.
She is survived by her nieces, Sharon Louise Hubbard Baldwin of Charlottesville, Virginia, Dana Lee Hubbard Hilton of Jacksonville, Florida, Carol Feiser Laque of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rebecca Hubbard McCormick of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jeanne Hubbard Rayphand of Saipan, a nephew, Jeff Feiser of Cincinnati, Ohio, and many, many grand-nieces and nephews, great-grand-nieces and nephews, and great-great-grand-nieces and nephews.
