SCHINKE, Gertrude (Tottie)

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, July 10, 2003 Gertrude "Tootie" Henrietta Schinke, peacefully passed away Friday, July 4, 2003 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Gertrude was born September 17, 1917 in Staplehurst, Nebraska. She is survived by 3 children: Dick (Donna) Schinke of Wintergreen, Virginia; Don (Phyllis) Schinke of Mesa, Arizona and Joanie (Larry) Moss of Phoenix, Arizona; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Gertrude is also survived by a sister, Luella (Joe) Hornyan of Aurora, Illinois and 4 sisters-in-law. Her loving husband Paul, preceded her in death in 1997. Gertrude's love and profession was her sewing. She spend her years in Illinois as a tailor for Sears, and her years in Arizona as a professional seamstress and owner of a custom drapery shop. She left a legacy of love and courage to her entire family and all whose lives she touched. Her memorial will be held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1337 W. 11th Street, Tempe, Arizona 85281 on Saturday, July 12 at 11 a.m
