The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, July 10, 2003 Helen G. Zelasko (Davis), of Phoenix, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the age of 72. She was the youngest of four children and was born in Chariton, Iowa on July 29, 1930. She is survived by her daughter Judi McElroy (David), son Steve Woltman (Pat), stepdaughter Connie Day, 3 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, sister Luce Shryock (John), and many nieces and nephews. Helen lived most of her life in Southwestern Michigan. In 1994 after the death of her husband, Stanley, she moved to Phoenix. At age 64, Helen enrolled at Paradise Valley Comm. College and studied Computer Science Skills. She was very proud of her new accomplishments: learning spreadsheet and word-processing skills and how computers worked. Helen worked for The City of Phoenix Water Dept. as a clerk for 9 years. She truly loved her work there and the caring friendship of her co-workers. Helen made many cherished friends in Phoenix and will be remembered for always bringing laughter to their lives. Helen loved to laugh and enjoyed a spontaneous and lively curiosity for life. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association or The American Cancer Society. Private services have been held.
