Clara Montoya Baca, 78, a resident of St. Johns died June 13, 2011, in Show Low. She was born July 3, 1932, in St. Johns to Gabriel and Anita Lopez Montoya.
Clara married Rumaldo G. Baca April 3, 1949, and they were blessed with 12 children. She was a very loving, caring, giving person and enjoyed taking care of others. Clara was active in the community and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a patriotic citizen and was also a devoted St. Johns Redskins fan.
She is survived by her children: Stephen (Juanita) Baca, Olivia (Val) Costalez, Howard (Diane) Baca, Charles (Irene) Baca, Patricia (Scott) King, Dorothy Baca, Bernadette (Keno Rupp, dec.)(Curtis, dec.) Anderson, David Baca, Marlene (Manuel) Conde, Anthony (Joann) Baca, Marcus Baca, and Matthew Baca; brother Matias Montoya; sister Beatrice Chavez; 37 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren with seven on the way and one great-great-grandchild.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Asiano Montoya and sisters Andrea Chavez, Anita Nuanez and Tomasita Lucero.
A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 17, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, also at the church. Interment will follow the service at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
