Sally LeViness, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died on May 24, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 15, 1932 in Bakersfield, Calif., she graduated from Saint Mary's College of Nursing and worked in the medical profession in Bakersfield, where she met the love of her life, Edward LeViness. The couple were blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on March 13, 2011.
Sally was extremely involved in the San Francisco de Asis parish, where she worked with traveler's aide, St. Vincent De Paul, bereavement committee, altar society and many others. Sally was a very religious, caring and giving woman who was deeply committed to her faith and now is riding on angels' wings to be with the Lord. Sally will be terribly missed by us all.
Mrs. LeViness is survived by her husband, Edward LeViness of Flagstaff; daughters Joanie (Blair) Larson of Anthem, Nancy Cline of Glendale and Lynn LeViness of Chandler; five grandchildren, Kyndall Cline of Flagstaff, Ryan and Connor Cline of Glendale, and Alexa and Kristian Larson of Anthem; sisters Margaret Ann Costello of San Francisco and Joan Krausse of Bakersfield; and numerous nephews in the San Francisco area.
A memorial service for Sally will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Nativity Church, 16 W. Cherry Ave., with reception to immediately follow at St. Pius Church, 2257 E. Cedar Ave.
