The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, July 11, 2003 Henry Kortman, of Phoenix, AZ went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Ena (Sikkema), 4 sons; Roger (Pat), Larry (Terri), Keith (Coni), and Clifford (Cindy), 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by a brother Gerrit Kortman, and 6 sisters, Fenna Gabrielson, Jenny Toering, Gertrude Rubingh, Bernice Meekhof, Betty Spoel-ma and Eleanor Van Haistsma, all residing in Michigan. Henry was born in McBain, MI on January 29, 1915. He was married to his wife Ena in 1938 and enjoyed 64 years of marri-ed life. They moved to Arizona from Michigan in 1958. Henry was an electrician for many years and worked for Arthur Electric in Phoenix for the last 22 years of his career, retiring in 1982. He had a passion for Christian Education and volunteered for many projects at the Phoenix Christian School which began in 1960, and still serves the educational and spiritual needs of many children. He also enjoyed working on many projects at his church; Phoenix Christian Reformed in East Phoenix. Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Phoenix Christian Reformed Church, 2438 E. Earll Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85016. Memorial donations may be sent in his honor for the Phoenix Christian Grade School or for the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee and sent to Phoenix Christian Reformed Church, 2438 E. Earll Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85016.
