Leonora "Irene" Wright Ebel 1943-2011
Irene passed away February 7, 2011 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11:00am Sat. Feb. 12, 2011 at Summers Funeral Home, 1205 W Bannock, Boise. Officiating will be Rev Lisa Payton, Amity Methodist Church. Interment will be at 1:30pm Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth. An open house will immediately follow at the home of Lee Wright.
Irene was born in Maywood, California November 13, 1943 to Lee Jr and Leonora Wright. Irene grew up in Smith Valley, NV, moved to Scottsdale, Arizona graduating from high school and attending college at ASU. Irene married and had a son, George Bond. The family moved to Idaho and opened an office equipment store in Ontario, OR. Later, Irene owned and operated a ranch running registered longhorn cattle. At that time she was involved in the trucking industry and worked with her dad and brother in Wright Cattle Company. In 1991 she moved to Boise, ID, and was a grant coordinator and helped establish the State of Idaho Domestic Violence program. Following retirement she occupied her time working for H&R Block as a Senior Tax Advisor. While in Boise she married Allen Ebel. They enjoyed golfing at Plantation Golf Course where Irene was treasurer for the Plantation Ladies Golf Association.
Irene enjoyed her family especially her two grandchildren Brayden and Charisma. Irene is survived by her husband, Allen Ebel of Boise, ID; her son, George (Heather) Bond and grandchildren Brayden and Charisma. Irene is survived by her stepsons, Aaron (Robin) Ebel and granddaughter, Dakota of Tustin, CA, and Sean Ebel of Brisbane, Australia; brother, Lee (Glenora) Wright of Fruitland, ID; sister, Darlene (Sherrick) Grantham of Wickenburg, AZ; brother, Keene Wright of Winnsboro, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lee and Leonora Wright.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the First Tee of Idaho, Idaho Domestic Violence Shelters, or the charity of your choice, c/o Summers Funeral Homes, 1205 W Bannock Street, Boise, ID 83702.
