Rita Ann Watts, 80, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at her home in Lake Havasu City surrounded by her family and closest friend. She was born on March 06, 1931 in San Francisco, Calif. to Mal and Alice Proulx.
Rita felt she had lived out her golden years and completed her bucket list and was just plain tuckered out from the stroke she had suffered a few weeks ago, so she decided to throw in the towel. She was born and raised in San Francisco. After graduating from college she met her beloved future husband, Bill, and they married soon after he returned from the war. They spent 52 years together and he literally showed her the world and she kept busy raising four great children. Rita was very generous and full of love and spent time volunteering with the Catholic Church as an advocate for the poor. As her children started to leave the nest, Rita opened up her large house to a few older kids who were lost and needed shelter, love and a little guidance for a year of two or as long as it took to be ready for the world on their own. She loved Christmas and having her whole family together. After retiring about 12 years ago, she bought a house in Lake Havasu City to be closer to her Grandkids. They were her pride and joy and she enjoyed going to all their events. Rita will be deeply missed.
Rita is survived by her three daughters, Terry Watts of Parker, Cheech Pittner of Big River, Calif. and Susan Brunet of Lake Havasu City; grandkids, Amy, Kaitlyn, Sean, A.J. and Todd; great granddaughter, Bailey; brother, John (Bernadette) Proulx; nieces, Michelle, Linda, Connie and Bonnie Lee; nephews, Richard, Bobby, Toby and Teddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Mal Proulx, husband, William (Bill) T. Watts, son, William (Tom) T. Watts and a younger brother, Dick Proulx.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Arizona. Special thanks to Hospice of Havasu for all the help and support you gave our family.
