Beverly Elizabeth Larrabee, 82, of Manchester, died Thursday May 19, 2011, at Maine General Medical Center, in Augusta.
She was born in Augusta, Oct 17, 1928, the daughter of Oliver and Bernice (Day) Young. She was married to Paul Larrabee for 60 years before he died in 2008.
She was also a member of Penney Memorial United Baptist Church for 40 years and was an active member of the Eastern Star and Rainbow girls. Beverly worked at Taylor Shoe for several years.
Mrs Larrabee loved spending time at the family camp on Maranacook Lake, listening to the loons, watching sunrises and sunsets and cruising around the lake on the party boat. Her greatest joy was attending family functions where she treasured having her loved ones around her. She also enjoyed touring the United States on the motorcycle she shared with her husband. Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, gardening and collecting angels.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband, Paul; her mother, Bernice Read, and her grandson, Steven Plourd.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Larrabee and fiance, David Myerscough, of Manchester and Wickenburg, Ariz., Marylou Larrabee of Manchester, and Simonetta Bois and her husband , Terry, of Tarpon Springs, Fla; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Larrabee; sisters, Carolyn Beaulieu, of Augusta and Betty Kelley and her husband, Neal, of South Gardiner; granddaughter Melissa Child and her fiance, Timothy Audet, of Manchester; great-grandchildren, Nikkolas Child, Kyra Audet, Paul Plourd, and Samantha Plourd; great-great grandchildren Savanah McCray and Atreyu Plourd; extended loved ones Bob, Edith, Annie and Jessie Gingras; Carolyn Van Horn, Tom, Joanna and Miles Whitlock; several nieces and nephews along with her four-legged loved ones, "Maggie" and "CeCe."
A graveside service will be held at the Scribner Hill Cemetery on Monday, May 23, 2011, at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the food bank of your choice.
Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta.
