He retired from ConAgra on March 12, 2008, after 35 years of service.
Ray enjoyed telling people, "I have had only one job and one wife." Ray married his high school sweetheart Debbie, and on April 3, 2008 they celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. Together they have a son, Stephen, and a daughter, Nicole who both live in Hermosa Beach, California. He was adored and loved by his wife, children, and friends for his integrity, loyalty, honesty and openness. Residents of Granite Bay for 13 years, Ray and Debbie are members of Bayside Church. Ray was an avid runner, loved the experience of a new restaurant and its wine list, cooked a mean BBQ, and prepared Debbie her latte every morning.

In lieu of floral remembrances, the family would appreciate donations be made in Ray Ransom's name to Acres of Hope, a long term housing program for homeless women with children at PO Box 40, Applegate, CA 95703.
