Harry William Dickey
H.W. "Bill" Dickey, 87, passed away on June 15, 2011, at the VA Hospital in Prescott, Ariz. He was born on March 22, 1924, in Mystic, Iowa, to Emery and Erva (Teeter) Dickey.
Bill joined the Air Force during World War II, and was stationed on Attu in the Aleutian Islands. After his service, he became an apprentice carpenter and made his career as a carpenter, retiring in 1984. He was a faithful member of the carpenters' union, which honored Bill in Phoenix, Ariz., for being a member for 60 years. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bill is survived by his wife, Katheryn; daughters Linda Perry and Pamela Jones; grandchildren Lisa, Michael, Susan and Joe; and sister Dorothea Abernathy.
A funeral service for Bill will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the Yarnell American Legion Post 79 in Yarnell, Ariz. An interment service will follow at noon at the Genung Memorial Park Cemetery in Peeples Valley, Ariz. The family suggests that donations in Bill's name be made to the Arizona Humane Society or Granite Mountain Hospice, Prescott, Ariz.
