Archie Marsh, age 81, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at the Hospice Center in Prescott, Ariz. He was born March 8, 1926 in Portales, New Mexico, the son of William and Flora Marsh.
Archie attended school up to his junior year in the Portals, New Mexico school system. He moved with his parents in 1943 to Cory, Colo. where he graduated from Delta High School in 1945. He attended Bethany Nazarene College where he studied for the ministry.
Archie married Helen Alexander on April 20, 1950 in Delta, Colo. Three children, Lonnie, Janna and Garon, were born to this union. Archie and Helen served as ministers for many Nazarene churches in Nebraska, Colorado and Arizona, for thirty years, including the Prescott Church of the Nazarene.
Archie inherited from his father the ability to build and construct useful items from wood. He built many churches, pulpits, altars and many other items. He always wanted his items he constructed to be beautiful as well as useful.
Survivors include his wife Helen of Prescott Valley; children, Janna and husband Archie Dickey of Prescott, Garon Marsh and wife Susan of Loveland, Colo.; sister Marie Rithaler of Delta, Colo.; brother William Marsh and wife Ramona of Bethany, Okla.; brother, Earl Marsh and wife Esther of Delta, Colo.; brother Muri Marsh of Delta, Colo.; sister Fronia Taylor and husband Ed of Delta, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Duane, Shawn, Raymond, Chad, Marchelle, Bryce, Brandon, Sara and Daniel and three great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Flora Marsh, son Lonnie and sister, Christina Donnel.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at the Church of the Nazarene in Prescott, Ariz.
