Alfredo R. Padilla died Sept. 30, 2007, at Bob Stump's VA Medical Center, after a brave and determined battle with cancer. Alfredo was born Feb. 24, 1946, in El Paso, Texas. Alfredo was 61 years old.
Alfredo retired from ADOT as an inspector. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had proudly served in the U.S. Army, during the Viet Nam War.
Alfredo enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing with his dog, and fishing at Lynx Lake. He enjoyed listening to music while sharing a beer and telling stories with his family and friends. He was proudest of his family and his special relationship in his last year with his daughter, Roseanna.
Alfredo is survived by his sons, Alfredo, Jr. and Tony. (Tabitha) both of Washington, and Danny (Stacy) of Chino Valley; daughters, Loretta (Thomas) Reyes and Dolores Ovalle both of Phoenix, Frances Padilla of Mesa and Roseanna Padilla of Prescott; grandchildren, Jess, David, Melissa. Isaac, Jennifer, Robert, Yvonne, Melinda, Diana, Cole, Victoria, Sable, Adam, Brandon, Nicolas, Angel, Alize, Nathan and Joseph; and three great grandchildren.
Alfredo is now reunited with his beloved wife, Diana, who preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2004.
A Rosary Service will be 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carlton, with visitation 2 hours prior.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fluery, with burial and Military Honors at Mountain View Cemetery
