The Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, June 4, 2006 Dorothy "Dottie" McDaniel, age 81 passed away at her home May 20, 2006, in Paulden, Ariz. She was born in Alhambra, California, April 5, 1925, to Harry and Irma Newman. She attended Graceland College where she was the President of her sorority and participated in the Glee Club. She and her husband moved the family to Phoenix from Des Moines, Iowa, in 1958. She then attended ASU and took her internship at St. Joseph Hospital where she became a Registered Medical Technologist. Dottie worked at St. Joseph Hospital in chemistry and later worked for Good Samaritan Hospital as the head of research and development. After retirement she went to work helping her husband in their air compressor service business. For many years Dottie was involved in RLDS church activities such as the director of Sunday school, the Skylark and Orioles Program, directed church plays, helped with Vacation Bible School, was an alto in the church choir and a long-standing member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist. She enjoyed watching wildlife, reading, camping, fishing and spending time traveling with the family. In l998 Dottie and her husband made their home in Paulden, Ariz. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Adrienne McDaniel; and sister Eva Gaul. She is survived by her devoted husband and partner of 62 years, R.W. Wes McDaniel; daughter, Andrea V. McDaniel; her cherished grandson, Shane A. Campuzano; and sister, Virginia Lawetzki. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to YRMC Hospice Restricted Funds 3262 N.
