The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, June 1, 2006 Lori Lynn Perez passed away on May 27, 2006, after a long battle against cancer. She was born in Williams, Ariz., on April 9, 1963. She attended schools in Clarkdale, Ariz., and graduated from MUHS in Cottonwood, Ariz., on May 29, 1981. Lori was employed with the Yavapai Prescott Indian Tribe, where she held various positions until two years ago, when she became too ill to work and resigned from employment. Lori was a very caring and loving person. She loved her children very much. Even though she knew that she didn't have a long life to live, she left them with a lot of happy memories by spending time with them and going places with them when she was able to. Lori is survived by her husband Mike Perez; children, Alisha Tapija, Natasha Tapija, Desiree Perez and Miguel Perez; two grandsons, Pedro Jr. and Abel Valdivia, all of Prescott; her parents Daniel and Gerrie Tapija of Clarkdale, Ariz; her brothers, Daniel Jr. (Laura) Tapija of Prescott, Marc (Amy Ogo) Tapija of Glendale, Ariz., and Matthew (Leslie) Tapija of Clarkdale, Ariz.; 11 nieces, 7 nephews and numerous relatives. Lori will be sorely missed and cherished forever in the hearts of many. We know that her spirit lives on and she is at peace. Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Arizona Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St., Prescott. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., Prescott with burial to follow at the Yavapai Prescott Indian Cemetery. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements. Information provided by survivors.
