The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, June 23, 2011 Martin F. Fredrickson, 90, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., born May 26, 1921, in Creston, Iowa, passed away June 22, 2011. Services will be 2 p.m. June 25, 2011, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, July 01, 2011 Martin (Marty) Fredrickson, 90, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away June 22, 2011, at Golden Leaf Care Home. He was born May 26, 1921, to William (Bud) and Elsie Fredrickson in Creston, Iowa. He boxed Golden Gloves as a boy and was Iowa State Champion in 1938 in the featherweight division. Marty had a lifelong love of horses. In 1942, he joined the Army and served three years overseas. During the war, he boxed for the Army and won the Mid-Pacific Elimination in Hawaii. He is survived by his wife Norma of Prescott Valley; his daughter Marcia (Dave) Good of Rathdrum, Idaho; son Richard of Castaic, Calif.; daughter Sue (Bill) Ross of Prescott Valley; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; brother Willard (Alice) of Hesperia, Calif.; and brother Marshel (Agnes) of Creston, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara. A memorial took place.
