Alton "Jack" Pulliam, 84, of Flagstaff died Thursday, June 23, 2011, peacefully at his home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Childress, Texas, to Estal and Dollie Pulliam. Mr. Pulliam proudly served in the United Stated Navy during WWII. He then worked as a machinist working on Aircraft. In 1992, their home was completed and he and his wife, June, moved to Kachina Village, near Flagstaff.
Mr. Pulliam was known as a family man and people person. He loved the times shared with his family. He was a spiritual leader in his community and was always reaching out and caring for others. He also enjoyed passing the time gardening.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, June; children Sally Jo O'Brien, Tammy Lynn Barnes and Jacquelyn Roxanne Pulliam; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy James Pulliam.
A visitation will be Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Norvel Owens Mortuary; Graveside services will follow at the Citizens Cemetery, Veteran's Section at 10 a.m.
