The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, June 25, 2011 James Hinkle, 79, passed away on June 19, 2011, in Prescott, Ariz. at the VA Hospice. He was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Mt. Hope, W. Va. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Emmett and Virginia Hinkle, and two sisters, Jean Smelgus and Elizabeth Arthur. Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Annie. Other survivors include his sister, Helen Richmond of New Freedom, Pa., and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Jim served 28 years in the Air Force, including tours in Korea, Vietnam, Pakistan, Japan, Hawaii and Germany. Following his retirement, he was employed as a civil servant for 10 years at Keesler AFB in Mississippi. A celebration of Jim's Life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W Gurley, with Military Honors at 12:30 p.m. at the Prescott National Cemetery.
