Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, June 23, 2011 - Reginald L. Burque, 81, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, June 19, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Napoleon and Christine; and brother, Douglas. He is survived by his sister, Sister Marcia Burque; his brother, Verne (Phyllis); nephews, Christopher (Jill), and Michael (Lindsay); niece, Michelle (Adam); and many cousins. Reggie was born in St. Paul, Minn., and as a teenager he moved to Plentywood, Mont., where he learned his trade as a painter. He spent a short time in the military before he went back into business. In 1970, he moved to Lake Havasu City (a true pioneer) and was a painting contractor before becoming a general contractor. Reggie will be sorely missed by his many friends and family. A remembrance gathering will be poolside at his home: 4140 Trimaran Place East, Lake Havasu City,from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday with friends and family. Reggie was a loving and caring person who enjoyed his friends and had a passion for his three dogs, Bailey, Princess and Suzie-Q. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Western Arizona humane Society. Arrangements were placed under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory.
