MARKER, Violet Mae


The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on June 23, 2011 - Violet Mae Marker died Saturday, June 18, 2011. She was born on Jan. 22, 1926, in Fairview, Okla., and grew up there. She graduated from Fairview High School. She was a beautiful girl who married the love of her life, Wayne L. Marker in 1943. Mom was a gentle, loving and kind person who loved her family and friends. We will miss her sweet spirit and her easy-going nature. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Marker; son, Ron Marker, and son, Paul Steven Marker who died in infancy; her parents, Lucy and Elmer Young; brother, James Young; sister, Bonnie Heer; and brother, Loren Young. She is survived by her son, Larry Marker and his wife, Sally Marker; two granddaughters, Wendy Marker Sorensen and her husband, Michael Sorensen, and Gina Marker; three great-grandchildren, Ian Campbell, Jacob Sorensen and Brooke Sorensen; one brother, Elmer Young; and one sister, Martha Baskerville. The family wishes to express our thanks to the many nurses and staff at The Lingenfelter Center. They took wonderful care of my mother. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice or to the Alzheimer's Association. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at the LDS Church at 610 Eastern St.
