Arizona Republic, Phoenix, AZ June 28, 2011, Page B4, col. 3 Obituary Gary L. Woodruff Woodruff, Gary L. 70, well-known business owner in Chandler, AZ, died June 25, 2011. Born in Booneville, MS on Aug 18, 1940, Gary worked as a union carpenter on large projects, including the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant and Hoover Dam. He moved to Chandler, AZ in 1958, and after an injury ended his career as a carpenter, he became owner of D & L Glassworks in Chandler in 1997, and was active in its operation until his death. Gary enjoyed bowling, fishing, games of cribbage, and most of all, spending time with family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Leota; son, Dennis; daughters: Gail Low, JoEllen Baldenegro, Betsy Woodruff and Monica Long; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Hubert, Richard, Meldon, and David; as well as sisters, Debbie and Scharlene. A celebration of his life is planned for 6-8 pm Wed., June 29 at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr., Chandler. Contributions in Gary's memory are suggested to the Arizona Humane Society, the American Cancer Society or Hospice Family Care.
