BROOKS, Iolene

The Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, October 7, 2007 Iolene Brooks was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Edison, Neb., to Ralph and Rosa Stump. Her family moved to Jerome, Idaho, where she attended high school and married Frank Brooks on May 8, 1941. Iolene and Frank farmed in Idaho until 1955 when they moved to Mesa, Ariz., due to Frank's health. Iolene worked for the Yellow Front Store and Thrifty Drug Store on Main Street in Mesa until she retired in 1987. She lived over 50 years in Mesa, Ariz. For the last 18 months, she lived in Humboldt, Ariz. Iolene is survived by her son, Ulys (Karen) Brooks of Humboldt, Ariz.; daughter Carma (Fred) Jacklet of McMinnville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at the East Resthaven Cemetery, 4310 East Southern Ave., Phoenix, Ariz. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
