John Carl Jones, age 93, a long-time resident of Prescott, passed away on Aug. 31st. He was born on Aug. 23, 1912, in Thatcher, Ariz., to David S. Jones and Clara Hoopes Jones.
Carl served in WWII with the 20th Air Force on Saipan. For over 30 years, he worked as a Captain and Ranger-at-large, with the Arizona State Game and Fish Department. Carl really enjoyed helping people and had many friends throughout Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his son, John and his daughter, Carla Jones Bohl. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Leigh (Gentry) Jones, two granddaughters, five nephews and two nieces.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. Services for family and close friends are planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Hampton Funeral Home in Prescott. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Director's Office, 2221 W. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85023.
The Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
