SETZ, Richard

The Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, July 5, 2006 Richard Setz, beloved husband of Bettie Setz, passed away on July 1 2006. Dick was born July 24, 1924, in Aurora, Ill. He attended Alma College in Michigan and was in the U.S. Navy from August 1947 to May 1954. He married his first wife in 1957, and they had two children. In 1976 he married Bettie Setz in Rockville, Md. Following his retirement from the U S Department of Commerce, Dick and Bettie “retired" to South Carolina, where they became part of a Senior Follies acting group and "retired" again from that after nine years, when they moved here to Prescott. Richard is survived by Bettie, his wife of 29 years; his daughter Rebecca Rentschler; son Robert Setz; their children; stepdaughter Deborah Reed-Boden and stepson James Reed; niece Paula Hood and nephew Steven Sweigart. A celebration of life will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez, Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to either the local Fine Arts Center on Marina Street in Prescott or the local chapter of American Legion Post #6 in Prescott.
